State Senate Primary Debate Series -
September 8

The Fall River Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry is partnering with WSAR 1480 AM to co-host a State Senate Primary Candidate Debate series consisting of two debate events. The first debate will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the studio of WSAR 1480 AM in Somerset, Massachusetts. The second and final debate in the series will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the same location and time. Both debates will feature candidates for the First (1st) Bristol – Plymouth State Senate seat currently held by State Senator Joan Menard

The 2010 election for State Senator is a very important decision for Bristol County voters. The holder of the State Senate seat is the de facto leader of the SouthCoast legislative delegation. We have all witnessed firsthand that the next State Senator will be faced with extremely challenging issues. Also at stake are the future of economic development in the SouthCoast and the creation of a diversified economy that can withstand future financial downturns. That is why the Chamber has partnered with WSAR to offer this unique opportunity to hear directly from the candidates on the issues that matter most the SouthCoast community.
