The Chamber’s Electricity Cost Savings
Affinity Program!

Dear Chamber Member:

The Fall River Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in conjunction with the SouthCoast Electric Power Group (SCEPG), is launching a new electric cost savings program for its small business members. The program is designed to help members save money by providing a resource that will enable participating members to make the electric supply choices that best meet the needs of their businesses.

Background and History

SCEPG was formed in 2002 by the Fall River Area and New Bedford Chambers of Commerce to provide an opportunity for their largest users of electricity to save money by negotiating rates for electric supply from a variety of competitive suppliers. The group currently consists of the cities of Fall River and New Bedford as well as more than 30 large commercial, industrial and institutional users in the region. SCEPG has been very successful in managing electric supply costs. In aggregate its members have saved more than $12.0 million in the past three years versus utility supply rates.

New Small Business Electricity Program

Until now, participation in SCEPG was limited to large consumers, using more than 40,000 kWh per month. We recognized that our smaller business members also had a need for a resource to help them control their cost of electric supply. The Small Business Program fills this void and makes the benefits of electric supply choice available to all our members. Our consultants, Risk Services Group, will administer the program and will provide you with a review of your historic costs, a summary and analysis of the supply price and term options available to you and pricing from multiple competitive suppliers. This unbiased process will give you the ability to make the energy supply decision that best meets the needs of your business.

How Do I Participate?

Getting started is easy. Please complete the “SCEPG Member Data Release Form” and return it to the Chamber. You will be contacted by our energy consultant, Risk Services Group, and they will begin the process of analyzing your supply costs.

Thank you for your attention to the announcement of this important new membership service.

Kind Regards,

Robert A. Mellion, Esq.
President and CEO
